It was been a long time since I last posted anything that I personally typed on the blog. Life was really quite hectic. There are plenty of things to do and yet I could not master the concept of time management. Ok I can remind myself of what to do and stuff, but that's the easy part. The hard part is that I can't concentrate on studies (that's why I believe that I have attention deficient disorder (or something along that line)). Whenever I encounter some relatively challenging or a question that requires tedious calculations, I jump off my seat and migrate to my gaming station, where I will stay for at least 30mins. Then I'll hop back to my study station, see the same question momentarily and migrate back to my computer! HURRAY! So yea, ADD. :)
I don't think I'm hyperactive. Right?
After semestrial assement 2, it began the rise of project S.T.A.R. I personally have no idea what STAR stands for, but it's not something to do with superstar or idol or singing or anything like that. It's about studies. Concentrated dosage of studying. A form of intensive revision if you may.
That's only the part that covers the afternoon. There's also one that covers the night. In case you are wondering, the normal school "collapsed timetable" covers the morning.
In the night session, to sum it up, it is "Giving a place to study when home study is not working", in the most gentle tone I can put it. Since I'm not that's clearly against night study, you should note that my "gentle" might be subject to bias. It's rather ironic how we are expected to substantiate every claim for project work and general paper but it is, not within knowledge anyway, that it benefits the students. Unless it's on the grounds of getting out of the night study, I don't find other grounds for substantiation. To put it simply, students are not robots, none automatous in nature and finally require rest. Sure, some might actually benefit from such a program, with reasons ranging from non-condusive studying background at home to probably being homeless. I don't want to get into trouble with the authorities so I shall stop my rant here, but I shall list some distractants down for you to read:
The bed, an obvious destrating agent. Perhaps an infinite things can be done on the bed. You can cultivate dust mites for your biology class, test how good the spring is in storing energy and even realise your desire on it. Many claim when they want to study, they want to sleep. That's an obvious feeling that they have if you ask me, because if they feel like sleeping that means they lack sleep, and when they still feel like sleeping after sleeping for awhile that means that they have lost quite a few nights of sleep and when they still feel like sleeping after sleeping after a sleep, that means that they have some sleeping disorder! So yes, the bed does distract you, but that's your own fault for not sleeping early.
The computer, a machine of (fill in your blank). One of the portals used to access facebook, go explore failblog or even play computer games. An excellent machine for derailing one from studies if not handled properly. The computer, by itself, is not able to conciously control and human being. However, should one get to close with the computer and gets caught within it's control, breaking out is more difficult than jailbreak. Youtube videos prove more attention seeking than black and white printed pictures. Notes and books cite millions of sites off the internet. You must google before asking a stupid question. Games now have gravity that emultates the real world. So why wait? Go for the primary sources instead of the secondary sources. Use your computer today!
Books. Yes, books ITSELF distract the individual from studying. The question is why. We don't know. What I do speculate that that Harry Potter is selling better than textbooks evne thought textbooks is something compulsary to purchase in some schools. These fiction books reflect truely what books should be like, what language should be used for and more importantly, helps you improve your standard of living by improving your material standards of living. However, the blame MUST not be placed on these fiction books itself. We must also admit that fiction books have more interesting pictures on them too and textbooks (and notes for that matter) must blame themselves for being dull in nature. Furthermore, books are mutagens. Individuals who consume too much of books become bookworms, and those who study too much become muggers (studying freaks). So much for eating healthy huh.
These points might have some truth in them but I just rafted them out for humor purposes.
